WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT?
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Panic disorder and/or panic attacks Health anxiety Social anxiety Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Phobias and/or avoidant behaviors Intrusive thoughts, ruminations and compulsions What therapy approaches do you use for ocd and anxiety?
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a highly effective, research-supported treatment for OCD. ERP helps clients face feared thoughts, sensations, or situations while gradually reducing compulsions, reassurance-seeking and avoidance. Ovr time, ERP retrains the brain to respond differently to anxiety and uncertainty. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps clients develop a healthier relationship with anxiety, thoughts, and uncertainty. ACT helps clients stop fighting with or trying to eliminate anxiety, reduces the impact of intrusive thoughts, and empowers clients to live by their values and take meaningful action even when anxiety is present. How often are therapy sessions?
Session frequency is individualized and determined after the initial intake appointment with a specialized therapist. For OCD treatment, sessions are often scheduled weekly at first, particularly during active ERP work. As symptoms improve, sessions may transition to bi-weekly or maintenance sessions. how long does OCD or anxiety therapy last?
Treatment length varies based on symptom severity and individual goals. ERP is structured and goal-oriented, and many clients experience significant improvement within several months. Continued progress often occurs with consistent practice and maintenance sessions. do you accept insurance?
We are a private pay therapy practice and do not bill insurance directly. Many clients choose private pay therapy for OCD and anxiety because it allows access to specialized ERP therapists, greater confidentiality, and individualized treatment not restricted by insurance requirements. Our session rate is $160 per session. We can provide a superbill for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement. Do you offer telehealth therapy?
Yes! We offer telehealth (video/virtual) therapy for OCD and anxiety in addition to in-person sessions. Telehealth can be highly effective for ERP and ACT and allows clients flexibility and convenience. Of note, clients must be in the state of Wisconsin for telehealth sessions. what can i expect in the first session?
In your first session of ERP and ACT therapy, you can expect to discuss your symptoms, goals, and how anxiety and avoidance show up in your daily life, while building a shared understanding of what keeps the cycle going. The therapist will explain how ERP involves gradually facing feared thoughts or situations without engaging in compulsions, and how ACT focuses on changing your relationship with thoughts and feelings. Together, you’ll begin identifying triggers, values, and treatment priorities, and leave with a clear sense of the therapy approach, next steps, and what practice between sessions may look like. |
