TARA FARMER, MS, LPC, CSW Are you ready to feel less anxious, engage in less worry and shut down intrusive thoughts - so you can be more present in your work, relationships and daily life? Anxiety and OCD are not personal failures and are highly treatable, with the right kind of treatment. Therapy with me is active, supportive and focused on building confidence in your ability to tolerate discomfort and uncertainty. Ongoing anxiety can lead to people feeling stuck, disconnected or demoralized. Together we focus on responding differently to fear based thoughts, reduce the impact of anxiety, and learn effective tools and strategies to create lasting and meaningful change.
Clients don't work with me because therapy is easy. They work with me because therapy works. As an Anxiety and OCD Specialist, I understand the patterns and behaviors of anxiety and OCD and can offer the right kind of therapy-rather than just talk therapy which can unintentionally reinforce anxiety, compulsions and avoidance. Working with a specialist reduces shame and builds trust because I understand it without needing extensive explanation which can help lead to more efficient treatment and longer-lasting gains! Clients often describe me as relatable, down to earth and willing to say the hard things when it matters! I believe therapy can be both meaningful and human- I bring humor into our work and help make anxiety and OCD seem less powerful and overwhelming. If this sounds good to you, then let's get started! Support now can change everything! In person or virtual sessions available. What if you could experience less anxiety, feel more confident, and be able to approach your day with more resilience. Sometimes stress, repetitive and exhausting thoughts, or painful life events create unhelpful patterns in our lives and can sabotage our relationships with ourselves and others. I help people identify and cope with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worries, and constant second-guessing. I can offer you tools to learn how to face fearful thoughts, transform self-doubt, and approach daily situations that feel scary. Learning how to understand your thoughts, feelings, and triggers can be life-changing and incredibly meaningful.
I also love working with athletes. Striving to be our best physical self can be rewarding and can also take mental, physical, and emotional tolls. If you’d like improved self-talk, better sleep habits, or event-day confidence, we can work on that together. If you are experiencing an injury and are frustrated and impatient dealing with curve balls you didn't expect, let's talk. Improving your mental health as an athlete. I'd love to help you get to a place where you can feel proud of yourself for what you've accomplished.
