Do you experience thoughts that scare you or feel intrusive? Do you find yourself seeking reassurance from others or engaging in time consuming rituals to rid yourself of these thoughts? Or maybe chronic worry and "what if"  thoughts have made you feel out of control , scared, and exhausted. It's becoming difficult to function at work, school, parenting, or relationships. Anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder are so common and yet greatly under treated and misunderstood, in both teens and adults. It doesn't have to be this way. We can begin the journey now towards freeing yourself from the intrusive thoughts and unhelpful behaviors. Let's work to change your relationship with anxiety and worry. It will be worth it. Imagine the possibilities!

I also have a passion working with mothers or soon to be mothers who experience anxiety and/or OCD. Motherhood is an overwhelming experience with so many unrealistic expectations. We see all over social media happy mothers spending time with their children, seeming to have it all together. Mother’s experience so much pressure, worry, and even scary thoughts that are difficult to share with others, and therefore remain hidden. Let’s change the conversation. Let me help you find ways for you to be a healthier, confident and most importantly, imperfect mother!

I also believe the counseling relationship needs to be one of strength, transparency and genuineness. Therefore, I bring myself into the room and utilize humor, validation and compassion. We are in this process together and connection has to be part of that! If you are ready to get to work, then I look forward to meeting you!

Are fears, worries and intrusive thoughts ruining important aspects of your life? What if you could experience less anxiety, feel more confident, and be able to approach your day with more resilience.  Sometimes stress, repetitive and exhausting thoughts, or painful life events create unhelpful patterns in our lives and can sabotage our relationships with ourselves and others.  I help people identify and cope with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worries, and constant second-guessing. I can offer you tools to learn how to face fearful thoughts, transform self-doubt, and approach daily situations that feel scary.  Learning how to understand your thoughts, feelings, and triggers can be life-changing and incredibly meaningful.

I also love working with athletes. Striving to be our best physical self can be rewarding and can also take mental, physical, and emotional tolls. If you’d like improved self-talk, better sleep habits, or event-day confidence, we can work on that together. If you are experiencing an injury and are frustrated and impatient dealing with curve balls you didn't expect, let's talk.  Improving your mental health as an athlete or someone who is active is so important.  I'd love to help you get to a place where you can feel proud of yourself for what you've accomplished.

I am confident you can make meaningful changes in your life and I welcome any questions you have. Cultural humility, inclusivity and openness to your unique lived experiences are of great importance in my approach with you. I look forward to seeing you for in-person or virtual sessions.
